Working hard has its own rewards but getting a little recognition from one’s peers is one of the sweetest. Recently, Lake Gaston’s Long and Foster Realty received that recognition as it was awarded the Business of the Year Award from the Lake Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Owners of Lake Gaston Long and Foster, Mike and Tiffany Dotti said they were humbled by the award and that it meant more than words that the Chamber would bestow this honor.

Mike said he had the perfect place to display the award and that it will always be one of his favorites.

“Look at this,” he said, then lifted the award slightly and grinned broadly. He commented that the award really didn’t belong to him or Tiffany.

“It belongs to the team because they’re what makes the difference,” he said.

Lake Gaston Regional Chamber President, Christina Wells introduce the pair at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Award Ceremony, referring to the Dottis as a “power couple who has built an equally impressive team” in the region.

She complemented the duo for their hard work in growing their business while “managing to make time to help build their community.”

The two are credited with establishing an affordable living community, volunteering for numerous charitable causes, organizing events and participating in local government.

“For their genuine belief that a rising tide raises all ships and their hard work on behalf of the Lake Gaston region, we are proud to recognize (Lake Gaston) Long & Foster Realty… as Business of the Year,” Wells said.

Since 2013, when the company was established, Lake Gaston Long & Foster has expanded to include offices in Clarksville and Lawrenceville, Va.

The Business of the Year award is highly competitive. Chamber members nominate businesses from membership (420 strong) and must meet criteria that includes staying power, employee growth, increased sales volume, product/service innovation and community involvement.
